Craniosacral integration is a wonderful, gentle technique involving light touch that helps to connect to the dynamic forces of the body. I tune into the rhythm of the craniosacral system and the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid to feel for any imbalances, tensions and torsions within the body. In this way, I can access the multifunctional systems of the body and their interactions. This is a very subtle treatment that works on a deep level. Because of its gentleness and light touch, it is suitable for all ages, especially babies, who respond very quickly to the treatment. They have no preconceptions or prejudices and know a good thing when they feel it. A real delight to work with the young ones.
I love working with newborns and infants and have gone on several courses to specialize in this field. Babies and their mothers are unique in their relationship. Birth trauma can affect a newborn as well as the mother and so I often treat the mother with the baby initially. Depending on the kind of birth, a baby is prone to a variety of issues such as cranial asymmetry and occipital locking. There might be swallowing, breathing, or digestive issues that can all be treated with craniosacral therapy. In fact, I believe the best gift to give parents for the newborn is a craniosacral integration session.
Most often the receiver will feel a deep sense of relaxation as the treatment develops and perhaps also warmth, waves or strange sensations during treatment. Sometimes a wonderful sense of unwinding. Sometimes, nothing is felt. I address these imbalances in the body by working on the craniosacral system which includes the cranium, spinal column, sacrum and membranes around the spinal cord. As the body is one whole, this core treatment can provide effective relief from a whole host of problems.
Like I said before, this is my experience and in no way does it replace medical advice, so please go and see a medical doctor to get a diagnosis.
Each treatment takes about an hour, but once the process starts, it is followed through to its conclusion, so 60 minutes is really just a time frame that I use mainly for the comfort of the receiver.

I will take your health history, your reason for booking the session and will want to know your expectations of the treatment. During treatment, you are fully-clothed and lying down, usually on your back. However, if lying on your back is uncomfortable, it is possible to change positions. The first session is usually about you getting used to the treatment which involves a light gentle touch on various areas of the spine, head and torso. It is a very relaxing treatment.
Usually between 45 minutes to 90 minutes. It depends on the individual. Babies and children will usually have shorter sessions, while adults could receive up to 90 minutes.
